Charming long-time LarsErik leading lady Faith Darling makes her long-awaited return to the big screen in an episode of director Erik Larson’s new series of short films entitled “Door Mat.”
Faith started off as a teenager playing the lead in “Problem Child,” as Uncle Alice’s rebellious daughter who finds herself in a series of mishaps caused by her own bad girl behavior. This led to Erik writing the lead for her in his next film, “Graham Crackers.” In that film, Faith played the “good” daughter, the mousy Angie Graham, with an Elvis obsession and a murderous protective nature for her mother.
Next up were roles in a couple of never-completed pieces, and then Faith played the lead again in “KaFiend,” a B&W 16mm short Erik did for a film class.
She actually flew in from another country where she was living at the time to film her role as the ultra-cranky insurance lady in “Lost,” which reunited her with her pal Uncle Alice.
Now, 20 years after her film debut, Faith returns as Doreena’s brand-new daughter-in-law in “Door Mat: Crazy Love” and proves it’s more than just her name that is darling.
